About Me
Hi, I’m Madelyn Smith (Maddi). I’m a designer and creative technologist who works with both art and computer science. I’m interested in how people use digital tools, how AI affects creative decision-making, and how design can make technology feel more intuitive and personal.
I study Computer Science and Studio Art, so my projects usually combine visual thinking, research, and technical development. Recently, I completed an independent study on AI prompting and the artistic process. That work became the foundation for DoodleQuest, a personalized prompting tool for artists that I’ll continue developing as my senior project.
I also spent a semester studying abroad in Tokyo, where I learned a lot about cross-cultural communication, accessibility, and the ways different communities respond to emerging technologies. Those experiences influence how I approach audience and design choices.
Outside of academics, I like running and going to the gym, drawing digitally, exploring new places, and working on personal art projects. I’m involved in the Black Student Alliance and the Computer Science club, and I enjoy being in creative and supportive communities.
No matter the medium, I try to focus on clarity, intention, and the human experience behind whatever I’m making.
